Am I Eligible to File a GranuFlo or NaturaLyte Lawsuit?
Fresenius Medical Care (FMC) is expected to face thousands of GranuFlo and NaturaLyte lawsuits from individuals who were injured after receiving dialysis treatment with their acid concentrates. GranuFlo and NaturaLyte have been linked to serious side effects including heart attack, stroke, and death.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a Class 1 recall of GranuFlo and NaturaLyte products after receiving a leaked internal memo from Fresenius Medical Care in early 2012. Fresenius warned that patients with elevated bicarbonate levels who undergo hemodialysis treatment with GranuFlo or NaturaLyte are 6 times more likely to suffer heart attacks than those receiving dialysis treatment with other acid concentrates.
Fresenius Medical Care also reported that 941 dialysis patients had experienced sudden cardiac arrest within their facilities after receiving hemodialysis treatment with GranuFlo and NaturaLyte.
In addition to heart attack and stroke, reported GranuFlo and NaturaLyte side effects include low blood pressure (hypotension), myocardial infarction, metabolic alkalosis, cardiopulmonary arrest, and death.
